Hunger Games..

Right now one the big things happening in peoples lives is the hunger Games premire. I haven't read the books nor seen the movie and after reading the Plugged In review, I'm not sure i want to. I mean I don't think I couldn't handle the violence, it just reminds me of how sinful our world is enjoying that kind of violence for 21/2 hours! Here you can find a wonderful Christian perspective on this. Now if you've seen them, I'm not trying to make you feel guilty(and I apologize if I did), but I just want to warn those out there who haven't seen the movie. Now you're probably wondering, "now you've told me what NOT to read so what should I read?" This may sound cliched but the Chronicles of Narnia are wonderful!! They were written by a Christian author, C.S. Lewis, and contain many allegories to the Christian life. school...:P...and cakes...and cupcakes..:)

so school today was..um...interesting :). We dissected worms. It wasn't as bad as I thought ,but still pretty gross.

On another hand, if you didn't already no this, I bake cupcakes as a hobby and unofficial job, so I'll be posting pics a lot here's a bunch that haven't been posted before...
The one above is a chocolate cake( I cheated with a mix) with chocolate frosting(again,cheating, I used a can:))

This one was just to decorate :) You can't see it but there is edible sparkle on there(cause nothing can ever have too much glitter:)

These i made a loonnggg time ago. They're chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes, filled with an eggless cookie dough and frosted with chocolate chip cookie dough frosting. You can find the recipe here

Finally, i made these yesterday. These are cookies n' cream. A french vanilla cake mix with crushed oreos in the batter an frosted with Wilton's vanilla buttercream with finely crushed oreos in it.

Church....

Happy Sunday y'all!!!
Thought this was really funny so I'm gonna share it with you all: So last nite i was watching the MurrayState vs. Marquette game and I'm like "Dad, why is every one all decked out in green?' His reply:"Umm... Mary Beth, Its St Patrick's Day". well, I had no idea even though every one was posting about it on Facebook :)( and even though I was wearing black all day, I didn't get pinched :))
Anyways... today's church <3!!!! I love Church!! We get to praise our wonderful and merciful Savior, Jesus Christ!!!
On another note have you ever listened to or heard of the band Press Play? Well, listen to them!! They are amazing !!! They cover so many genres from rock to praise! I would highly recommend them if you're looking for some new music!

Getting started....

So one of my friends has a blog, and she suggested i get one. Sooo..... we'll see how this goes won't we? I'm sure by now you're wondering about the title of my blog, The Life of an Alien. first of all, I'M NOT A LITERAL ALIEN. I'm no martian! However, I'm not of this world! John 17:16 says, "They are not of this world, just as I am not of it(that's Jesus speaking)"  So, I, as a Christian, am not of this world. I do not belong in it because I belong in my heavenly home with me heavenly Father. Also, I am a sinner saved by grace, so I'M NOT PERFECT! Many people think that us Christians are perfect, well, I'm here to tell you that we're NOT!! So you probably will find some spelling errors and grammar and punctuation issues, but that's OK. One more thing, I am not here to try to stuff religion down y'all's throats however, if you're searching for the 'something more' of life or you're just plain confused by life and if you're a Christian who is struggling with your spiritual walk or looking to make yourself a better christian, I will try to help with all of those things as much as I can.
